CLAYTON
Shana not only saved me time and money, but gave me the opportunity to pursue greater opportunities in my professional career.
"I was at Framingham State for two years, and I had decided to transfer to URI. However, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place dealing with transferring credits. The whole process felt hopeless as I was just running in circles. Nobody I talked to was able to help me through this process, or even cared enough to make an effort.
That’s when I reached out to Shana Bloom. From the moment we started working together it was obvious she truly cared about helping me. She began working tirelessly on helping me through the transferring process, explaining URI’s credit system and how it works. Because of Shana’s help, I was able to confidently transfer to URI without having to push my graduation year back at all. Even with being accepted Shana didn’t stop helping me. She began reaching out to staff from URI who she believed would be helpful for me to know and set up introductions with professors who helped me for the rest of my time at URI.
I am so thankful for everything Shana did for me. I never would have been able to transfer to URI, and most likely would’ve ended up with a degree I never would be able to use."

How I worked with Clayton
When Clayton and I began working together, he was attending a university outside of Boston where he had been recruited to play football. While he did well at the school, he came to the conclusion it would better serve him to attend a university with a Media Communication's major.
As he began the process of transferring, he found it became quite difficult. He needed help with advising, transfer credit evaluation and department meet and greets. With my expertise on university protocols, academic advising, and transcript evaluation, I guided him through each step of the process and found an on campus advocate for him who specialized in first generation college students. From that point on, Clayton thrived and went on to become the first person to graduate college in his family,

Today, Clayton and I talk about the next steps in his journey including future career dreams. He is doing well and is moving forward with tenacity and purpose in the next phase of his life, and I look forward to seeing his future accomplishments.
