ABOUT ME

I live my life with resilience, a sprinkle of humor and the guiding belief that life outside the box offers fresh opportunities and new adventures. 

THE HOLISTIC FRAMEWORK

Trained in the Holistic Model, I operate from this lens in each aspect of my work.

My name is Shana Bloom, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island and Telehealth licensed in Florida.  As a counselor and a coach, it's my intention to work with individuals to get clarity on their purpose. I am holistically trained and I love my work!  I work with high schoolers, college students, early career individuals and career changers to achieve their personal definition of success. My focus is on the body, mind and spirit, elements which interconnect and impact a person’s thoughts, choices and goals.

While life doesn't come with a GPS map to guide your way, I believe that there are valuable insights and subtle "breadcrumbs" that can offer guidance and messages as you traverse your unique path. These breadcrumbs can light the road in front of you, providing clarity and direction. With a blend of empathy, compassion and a sprinkle of humor, my goal is to provide you with gentle guidance, unwavering support, and practical strategies in uncovering those elusive breadcrumbs.

MY EDUCATIONAL STORY

I love Higher Education! It's the place where I discovered my abilities,

and realized, I could now become the ZEBRA in a herd of horses.

Growing up school did not come easily to me. I struggled with learning issues and lacked confidence in my abilities. I truly believed that "I was just not good at it." At 24, I was struggling in the workforce and needed to try something else; I took a chance and enrolled in Aims Community College in Colorado. At that time, I needed full year of remedial coursework, before I could even begin to take college level classes.

In my first quarter at Aims, I earned a 3.0 GPA--the best grades I had ever received.  I still remember standing outside of the building, jumping up and down shouting, "I can do this!"  I was yelling so loud, everyone could hear. From then on, I was "on fire" and went on to earn my Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Post Graduate degrees.
